But we all, teachers and parents, will have our work cut out for us. <br />Christine, I like a good rant....sometimes I think it's only me that does that...but you are right, it's all happening rather fast. Fingers crossed!Returning Scothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10277005461019535134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1149301847823110805.post-88189095358353846082010-10-30T18:12:52.328+02:002010-10-30T18:12:52.328+02:00I agree with Metropolitan Mum about the over-use o...I agree with Metropolitan Mum about the over-use of the word "excellence". As if anyone is going to design a "Curriculum for Mediocrity"! However, I'm also very worried about it. I think it's worked very well at primary level, but it was a terrible pity that the Scottish government forced it onto secondary schools, when the teachers were pleading for more time to prepare for it. Education shouldn't be a political weapon, as the real losers will always be the children, and children are any country's future. (End of rant - or was that a moment of reflection?!)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1149301847823110805.post-64754632640370966932010-10-29T20:01:56.270+02:002010-10-29T20:01:56.270+02:00I get worried about what will happen to my younger...I get worried about what will happen to my younger grandchildren, but on a broader scale I think of all the vulnerable children for whom education is not exciting or valued. The whole situation needs to be monitored by politically aware parents like yourself. So thank you for a very thoughtful post.Fredahttp://www.freda.org.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1149301847823110805.post-417097929547309452010-10-29T15:44:02.083+02:002010-10-29T15:44:02.083+02:00Hi again! It's one of the buzz word du jour. It has been a tad bit overused in my old job. Still makes me want to run away and scream. Thinking sounds good. I am a big fan of letting your mind wander. Happy thinking!Metropolitan Mumhttp://www.metropolitanmum.co.uknoreply@blogger.com
